World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Ivory Coast (2020) Deadliest Roads - All Episodes: 🤍 Titles to glory, with medals made of chocolate… “The infrastructure is in a desperate state,” complains one cocoa bean trucker who zigzags between the potholes. “When the prime minister came to the region they filled in the holes, but they never repaired the road!” Cocoa producers are in despair. “Getting the product out of the forest is a major problem. You leave here in the morning, but you don’t know if you’ll get there by night.” Yakou is one of the last drivers willing to supply the most remote villages. There’s only 45 kilometres to travel and it takes him between 8 and 10 hours to get there! The journey is so demanding that his son, who helps him during the vacations, doesn’t want to inherit the family’s one item of wealth: the truck. But nothing in the world would make him abandon his father. “My father’s brave, he’s a fighter!” To confront the highways, which are that in name only, Ivory Coast mechanical geniuses construct a replica of a 1970s minibus, part by part. The Badjan! Zoum owns one, but like the majority of drivers, he does not have the means to maintain it… “You see us cutting and welding the parts because we don’t have the means to buy new ones.” Today, cocoa no longer brings in sufficient revenues so some people are tearing up the trees to search for gold! The challenge to the people of the Ivory Coast is huge, but their determination is even greater… ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in India (2018) Banged Up: My Story - Toughest Stories from Behind Bars: 🤍 During the winter, the valleys of the Indian Himalayas are secluded from the rest of the country. When spring arrives, the families from the hottest regions return to their villages in order to plough the fields. The trek home lasts many days and requires nerves of steel. Bus drivers graze the precipices and guzzle through roads barely wider than their vehicles. The truck drivers who supply the lost villages of the Himalayas act as tightrope walkers on 4,000 metre-high paths for minimal salaries. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Jamaica (2020) Deadliest Roads - All Episodes: 🤍 Jamaica is not only the land of reggae and fine sandy beaches. It’s also a mountainous island cloaked in dense tropical vegetation. Its road network is in disastrous condition. This is nowhere truer than in the blue mountain region where the peaks rise over 2,000m above sea level. Only the hardiest dare venture there. Or the poorest. Those who have no choice and must go there to harvest the country’s treasure: Blue Mountain coffee, one of the most expensive coffees in the world at nearly €200 per kilo (twenty times more than a standard coffee). A treasure that deserves the name. The sodden tracks along the sides of the ravines that lead up to the plantations turn every journey into a ordeal. Rasta communities have also chosen to set up residence in the highest, most inaccessible peaks of these Blue Mountains. A choice that can prove perilous during times of major ceremonies when hundreds of faithful gather from all over the island. Not all of them make it. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free. In the Andes people have learned to manage by themselves, in the shadow of guerrilla warfare. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Bolivia (2020) Deadliest Roads - All Episodes: 🤍 In the Andean cordillera of Bolivia, two mothers risk their lives as they travel some of the most dangerous roads in the country. After having stocked up in La Paz, the highest capital city in the world, MARIA, the grocer, returns to her village. It’s situated in the high mountains of the Yungas forest. Maria is one of the rare women in Bolivia who dare take on these trails that are lost in the clouds. The grocer is an ace at the wheel and as brave as they come, well worthy of the wages of fear, in risking the trip along the dizzy heights of the ravines. But once she gets up there, her journey is not over. She runs further risks by taking her mobile store up to a remote village. Maria doesn’t do this for the money, but to bring assistance to the residents, who walk for an hour through the mountains for a few errands. LOURDES ventures along one of the most notorious of the “Roads of Death”, in order to bring help to the women who dig for gold. She tries to persuade them to give up this trade, which will never make them rich and which, more importantly is killing them by slow degrees… whole families work in waters that are highly polluted with mercury. The road leading to the mines is a way of the cross, with broken-down trucks and landslides regularly cutting off the route. Rain falls incessantly, the weakened mountain sides collapse, carrying houses and roads in their passage. It’s clear that Bolivia, because of global warming, is suffering from extreme climatic phenomena. The fault partly lies with the loggers, who, little by little, are killing the Amazon forest. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Botswana (2020) Banged Up: My Story - Toughest Stories from Behind Bars: 🤍 The real lives of the people of Botswana is far from the usual picture postcard image. CHAIDI, MONTY, MAREKO, SEKERE live in the heart of a country that is nothing but one vast desert: Botswana. Everybody struggles to keep their job and support their family, but in the all-prevailing fine sand it’s impossible to move around without a 4-wheel drive. And with tens of thousands of wild animals on the roam such as lions and elephants breaking down is not a reassuring prospect. Normally, once a year, only the OKAVANGO delta, which flows into this desolation, provides a little coolness and vital resources. However, this year the water did not come. The drought is posing a serious threat to the lives of the people and animals. The struggle for survival is getting more intense and global warming makes the problems worse. A merciless war over water is being waged between the elephants and farmers like Monty. Taking his domestic animals to water becomes a way of the cross and flocks are dying. In what looks an apocalyptic setting, Lake NGAMI has changed appearance to become a vast puddle of mud. MAREKO struggles to catch the few remaining catfish amidst the hippos bogged down in stifling slime. To deliver supplies to his grandmother, penniless CHAIDI walks for hours over a sun-baked track. At the end of the trail, hungry children await his pack of sugar. In Botswana, the entire community organized around cattle breeding and consumption is under threat from the terrible effects of global warming. And yet, in the Kalahari Desert, SEKERE and his mother, MOGATLANYANA, the oldest representatives of southern Africa, known as the Bushmen, still remember how to live in harmony with nature by using water from roots and dew. Imbued with the spirit of freedom, they are trying to return, in an old pick-up, to the land of their forefathers from which they were driven. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Somaliland (2013) Deadliest Roads - All Episodes: 🤍 Despite separating from Somalia over 20 years ago, the state of Somaliland is still unrecognised by the rest of the world. Life here is hard. The popular series Dicing with Death brings us an eye-opening look at life in a country that isn’t officially a country. Due to lack of infrastructure and leftover mines from the civil war delivery drivers in Somaliland take their lives in their hands each time they cross the desert. Before the lorries, transporting goods was done by camel, nowadays Somaliland is one of the main exporters of camels to the rest of the middle east; it is said here that both eating their meat and drinking their milk will make you virile. Somaliland is one of the biggest consumers of the plant khat which when chewed gives a cocaine-like high. The plant quickly loses its potency and so the delivery drivers must race to get their product to the distributors, rather than stopping they just throw the bundles off the side of the moving trucks; with clamouring customers waiting eagerly for each drop off. But life may be about to change here as supposedly there is a lot of oil under the ground, an as yet untapped resource which may one day bring Somaliland the wealth and recognition it craves. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free. Deadly Roads - Afghanistan, South Africa & India (2016) Deadliest Roads - All Episodes: 🤍 A lifeline for the numerous villages in the region, the Duong Valley road is the only link between China, Burma, and Tibet. The film crew joins locals (and a very special pig!), aboard a collective taxi to explore the region. Things start well enough; for the first 30 km, the road is paved. However, the tarmac quickly gives way to a dirt track, perched on the side of a vertiginous ravine. Landslides punctuate the drivers’ progress, and passengers frequently have to get out and dig. It’s a bumpy ride, and the pig has to be moved from his precarious position on the roof of the vehicle to join the human passengers inside. The drivers are fearless, ready to risk life and limb to complete their journeys. We encounter a crowd waiting at the entrance of an unfinished tunnel. The roof has collapsed, and the lorries cannot get through. The travelers work for long hours inhaling dust and carbon monoxide, hoping that the vibrations from the engines will not cause the tunnel to collapse on their heads. High up the hills, woodcutters fell the trees to make carbon, before embarking upon a back-breaking hike to the roadside where they will sell their wares. To reach their destination they must swing across a 50-meter river on a make-shift flying fox, their heavy cargo in tow. Further along, a Buddhist monk loads heavy stones on the back of a geriatric pickup truck, and an entrepreneur gambles his savings on a lead mine. The stories of the Duong Valley’s intrepid inhabitants interweave with the drama of its beautiful but unpredictable landscape. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in India/Bangladesh (2019) Deadliest Roads - Guatemala: 🤍 In this acclaimed series, we journey on some of the world’s most dangerous routes and explore the lengths people go to in order to change their destinies. From the peaks of the Himalayas to the Indian Ocean, the Brahmaputra river flows for 2,900km through China, India, and Bangladesh. One hundred million people live along its banks and depend directly upon it for their survival. In the mountains of North-East India, its rapids make it impractical for navigation and trucks are the only means of transportation able to supply these remote villages. And so, drivers undertake a most dangerous journey on board ancient trucks, brushing precipices and crossing suspension bridges whose planks threaten to break at any moment. In Bangladesh, thousands of cows are transported along the river in simple wooden boats, while crowded ferries play bumper-boats as they try to plough a path to the docks. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in the Philippines (2017) Deadliest Roads - All Episodes: 🤍 The island of Mindanao to the South of the Philippines has not yet fully joined the modern world. In the province of Bukidnon, the rice harvest still dictates the rhythm of life. With every harvest, the farmers of the small village of Kalabugao, located in the middle of the mountains, entrust their precious goods to the drivers and the brokers in charge of selling them to the market. Overloaded lorries travel 70 kilometers. The journey usually takes around six hours, but during rainy season it can take as much as several days. Muddy ditches, landslides, vehicle breakdowns … the countdown has started for the “rice convoy”. Every hour lost risks the rice rotting. A little further South in the Santiago de Compostela Valley, strange lorries called ‘Saddams’ — a reference to the former Iraqi dictator — begin their daily trips. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Peru in 2018 From the north to the south of Peru, deep canyons cut into the Andes cordillera. People who need to supply their gold mines, cultivate their vines or simply regain access to their villages, have no choice but to embark on the most unlikely of roads, carved out of the rock. Major companies have a base at the end of the road, attracted by the fabulous natural resources of the country, whether it is underground with its wealth of precious metals, or in its waters teeming with fish. However, all this wealth rarely benefits the unskilled workers, the men and women who have to bend double to work deep in the tunnels, scratching at the earth amidst clouds of ammonia, or risk their lives at the end of a 200’ rope, for a handful of euros. From the Maranon River valley to the Cotahuasi canyon, by way of the Paracas desert, this Impossible Road takes us through the magnificent landscapes of Peru, where life comes at a high price… ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: 🤍 Join the club and become a Free Documentary Patron: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free. Dimitri is the only man from Kholodnaia with the sufficient skills to drive the truck. During the journey, he must dodge bears and cross crumbling bridges and glaciers. Temperatures outside the truck reach -20º and, if anything goes wrong, it’s unlikely anyone will come to his rescue. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: 🤍 Join the club and become a Free Documentary Patron: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free. World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Ghana (2018) Deadliest Roads - Guyana: 🤍 Harvest is approaching in Ghana, a small country in West Africa which is the world’s second largest producer of cocoa. Jeffery and his workmates are on a mission to sell the fruits of their labour, either by motorcycle or barefoot. Lake Volta, located in the centre of the country, is the largest man-made lake in the world. Several times a week, the locals cross it to go to the market. But things get tricky when it comes to transporting livestock across the lake, especially when there are passengers on board. Ghana is also renowned for its funeral rituals, notably their special coffins, which are made to represent the profession of the deceased during his or her lifetime. Coffin-makers compete on roadsides, with coffins coming in the form of multi-coloured fish, sewing machines, bibles, and even ‘bush taxis.’ Funerals are rarely a somber affair, and can often seem more like carnivals. A place for the dead to come back to life… ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: 🤍 Join the club and become a Free Documentary Patron: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bringing high-class documentaries to you on YouTube for free. Ethiopia is among the hardest-hit countries in terms of deadly traffic accidents. Trains and trucks circulate along infrastructure from another age. For trucks in the south of the country, the transport of goods and people take place in the rain and on slippery roads… There is, however, no alternative, as flying is too expensive and the trains are no longer in working condition, except one. This one train travels through half of the country, from the city of Dire Dawa to the border at Djibouti. It travels 310 kilometres over the course of more than 10 hours – on a good day. This last known working train is no stranger to derailments and breaks down on a regular basis. It is the oldest but also the most dangerous train in the world! From the Danakil desert to the rainy summits of the Kaffa region, welcome to Ethiopia! Production: Tony Comiti Productions Director: Alexandre Spalaïkovitch, Guillaume L'Hotellier

In Siberia they call it the « highway of life »… and also the « highway of hell ». This is the M56, a 1200 km road route that crosses this region in the far Eastern part of the Russian Federation. The M56 is an indispensable link for the people of the North of Siberia. Summer and winter long, thousands of trucks and hundreds of cars take this road to ensure supplies of food, drink and materials. But this road to the other end of the world is also a real nightmare. First, because of its history: it was built between 1925 and 1964 by prisoners, "enemies of Communism" sent to the gulags, who never returned. And today is still strikes fear. Driving conditions are particularly harsh. Here there’s no tarmac covering the surface, only thousands of rocks, far too big to drive on. There’s no car tyre that can resist them! Dust, mud, vibrations, blizzards that can “overturn a truck” : when you take this road, you suffer! We accompany 3 truck drivers, among them, Igor, 42. He has three days ahead of him before he reaches Yakutsk, one of the most remote cities in Russia. He has to delivery his load of beer at all costs! Aboard his truck we discover the M56. Director: Philippe Lafaix
To link these two worlds, giant trucks relentlessly cover the most remote roads and tracks of the southern continent. They are called road trains, road trains. Since the 1930s, generations of intrepid drivers have piloted these behemoths, launched at full speed on the rugged tracks of the Outback.
When Congo gained independence, it had the best road network in Central Africa. However, the condition of the roads has declined drastically and now only 2% of the roads are paved. During the rainy season, many parts of the country become a muddy swamp.
In Cameroon, only 2% of the roads have been asphalted. All of the country's inhabitants rely on the Clandos' taxi services, they have no other choice. The country has no railway and taking airplanes is both too expensive and too dangerous. Director : Jean-Christophe Brisard
A mythical road built by the Soviets to open up the Pamir region and subject it to the rule of the Empire. A daring journey suspended between earth and sky on what the Tajiks call the “roof of the world”. But since the Russians left in 1991, the road has not been maintained. The Pamir Highway is the route of all dangers: Rock falls, landslides, fords ... 900 kilometers on the side of the ravine. Director: Daniel Lainé, David Geoffrion
World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in India in 2011 Benares, India’s holiest town, is the final destination for millions of pilgrims. They come from all over the country, making the difficult, dangerous journey to bath in the sacred River Ganges. For some, this will be the last journey they ever make. According to Hindu mythology, the souls of bodies cremated here will avoid the cycles of reincarnation and go directly to paradise. Every day, hundreds of corpses are brought here by their families to be cremated on funeral pyres. Thousands of tons of coal and wood are needed to keep the fires burning and a busy ‘coal-route’ has developed. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe Free Documentary Channel for free: 🤍 Join the club and become a Free Documentary Patron: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #Documentary #MostDangerousRoads ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary is dedicated to bring high-class documentaries to you on youtube for free.
