Every year about the same time the Victorian governmental officials lead by the Animal Justice party starts to vocalize their distain for Duck Hunting. They believe it to be a "barbaric practice" and that there are deeply held concerns about the practice by the majority of Victorians. We felt like we needed to provide a little perspective around this matter - what's barbaric about sourcing your own food? Which majority? The ones that are suburbanites, have never donated or contributed to duck conservation, and buy meat from the grocery store? Here is a little #truth about the subject ...
Thank you your great work on this video. I appreciate your effort to save my passion for wild, sustainable, hunted food.
Thank you for the work you do, sir!
Well said it’s not longer based on the facts or data it’s all based political options
Exactly
Well said!
Rob the information you have is not totally correct. The first duck season in Victoria wasn't in 1952. It was in 1862 under the "Act to Preserve Game - 1862". The 1862 season opened on December 1, 1862 and closed on July 31, 1863. There was an unlimited bag limit at that time. Bag limits weren't introduced until the duck season of 1916 when the bag limit was 15 ducks. So in Victoria we have a duck hunting tradition that goes back over 160 years, not just 70 years.
bloody best youtube i have ever seen regardless of whom posted it on the benefits and the results of duck hunting on ducks - well done sir well done!
An excellent piece Robbie.
This attack has never been based on science.
Politics has embedded itself within the science.
Fishing and hunting will be the focus for groups targeting a sustainable wild harvest in Victoria.
Fortunately the wider outdoor rec users understand the precedent a ban on duck hunting will establish for other industries.
We have a fight on our hands.
Thanks for your great support.
